Find out how the world-leading marketing and data analytics company, Kantar, gave back to their employees to mark this year’s World Mental Health Day.
In October, colleagues across Kantar worldwide were given an extra day off work to unwind and focus on their well-being.
With the whole company out of the office and clients made aware, our people truly felt the benefit of being able to completely switch off.
We encouraged every one of our 25,000 colleagues to spend the time doing something that would contribute to their well-being, whether in the fresh air, a craft or hobby, trying something completely new or catching up with someone they hadn’t seen in a while.
As we returned after a long weekend our online Wellbeing group was flooded with photos of DIY projects, dog walks in the British countryside, visits to tourist hotspots in Italy, beaches in South Korea, family time in Nigeria, giraffes in Sydney Zoo, bike rides in the Philippines, yoga in Austria…and so much more! All examples from our Kantar community of how to spend a day prioritising you and your mental health.
Of course, not every day can be World Mental Health Day. This initiative, in its second year, is part of a wider programme within Kantar including regular webinars on managing different aspects of our mental, physical, financial, and social well-being, mental health first aiders and manager guidance on supporting direct reports facing mental health difficulties.
Our Employee Assistance Programme provides counselling, life coaching, mindfulness, online CBT, and referrals to local support services for our people and their families. Our benefits also include Life Assurance, a Healthcare Cash Plan, and Income Protection, to give our people peace of mind when it comes to their physical health.
Chris Jansen, Global CEO, said: “The care and well-being of the Kantar team is my highest priority, and good mental health is a critical part of this. I want to be part of a team that cares for each other, looks out for each other, and proactively supports each other. Talking about how we feel, in good times, and tough times is all part of forming great relationships. So, I am delighted to wholeheartedly support our mental health campaign and am always personally available to talk.”
Supporting our colleagues’ well-being is just one of the ways we enable people of all backgrounds to thrive. Inclusion and Diversity is a fundamental part of Kantar. It’s core to how we future-proof ourselves as a business and inspire our people to bring their best selves to work every day. And it’s a huge driver to the impact we can have on our clients to help them deliver their own I&D agendas.
