1.      Register for job alerts

By registering for job alerts on Evenbreak you’ll receive the latest vacancies tailored to you. This can save you time sifting through endless pages of jobs that you’re not interested in and help you identify roles as soon as they come on the market.

2.      Check your CV

Although Evenbreak advocates for candidates to be recruited based on attitudes and behaviours over skills and experience, many employers still request a CV on application. Review your CV and make sure it is up to date with the relevant skills and experience for each role you are applying for.

For more guidance to perfect your job search strategy, visit the Evenbreak Career Hive.

3.      Build your profile

Demonstrate to employers that you are the one to hire before they have invited you to the interview. By having an up-to-date profile on Evenbreak, employers will be able to assess your application and understand what you have to offer.

Log on to add your latest CV and update Profile.

4.      Participate in Talent Match

By joining our CV Database, we can help suggest the best possible roles for you as part of our new Talent Match service and employers can also find your details. Even more reason to update your CV and activate your Evenbreak profile!

5.      Set your career goals

Consider applying for our free Career Coaching service. All our coaches have lived experience of disability. Over three free sessions, explore short and long-term career goals and get help with CV development and interview preparation.

6.      Sign up for weekly newsletter

Sign up to receive a weekly newsletter from Evenbreak. This will contain links to the latest events, news, and job vacancies with inclusive employers.

7.      Review employer profiles

Assess potential employers by reviewing their profiles on Evenbreak. You will be able to learn more about their values and culture, hear stories from employees with disabilities, and see a list of their latest vacancies. Browse Evenbreak’s employers.

8.      Job Searches

Every day new roles are posted on our website. Vary the filters you apply in a Search to help you discover more opportunities. For example, firstly look by Sectors and then do a separate search by Role or Keyword – an employer might include a role in one category and not another.

9.      Follow on Social Media

Another way to be kept informed of the latest events, news, and featured job vacancies. Connect and follow Evenbreak on TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube

10.      Seek support

Evenbreak’s Career Hive offers a wealth of resources for CV and interview preparation. We also offer guidance on local support services and referrals to other organisations and charities that may be able to help you.

We’d also recommend that you use a multifaceted approach rather than rely on one source as it will increase your chances of learning about roles, for example, attending career fairs and networking.

All the best with your job search!
